He has proved that he has extensive experience
As a youngster and a freshman at the University of Nairobi, while studying bachelor’s in Journalism and Media Studies, Solomon became quite concerned by the misinformation and lack of information that locals in his home area were facing.
Solomon is a believer that the moment one stops learning is the time they stop living. He thus spends part of his time exploring new topics to build on his expertise. He is a qualified international communicator with a master’s in International Studies from the University of Nairobi that solidifies his Bachelors in Journalism and Media Studies from the same institution, a Diploma in Graphics Design from Graffins College, Nairobi, a KNEC Diploma in Information Technology from Zetech University.
He has also attended a Business Lab – Trainer of Trainers by UN-HABITAT & MASHAV Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, a course on Training of Trainers by Hand in Hand Eastern Africa and studied levels one and two of Bible Correspondence courses from Lamp and Light of Kenya among other training and workshops.
Through the support of his friends, he introduced a local newspaper called The Insight, more of a village newsletter, which passed information to over 30,000 people who came across the paper that had a circulation of 12,000 copies.
Locals were sending in bizarre and historical articles to Solomon while his friends wrote about Ruiru’s daily beat. Solomon would multitask as the editor, printer, and distributor. Solomon studied in Ituru High School, Kiambu County. Through the help of his teachers, he worked on his holistic development by building on his education and co-curriculum skills.
At one point, he was the best in Chemistry in the entire division in the GADMASA exams. At another point, he won one term’s worth of school fees for developing a logo for Gatundu Water and Sewerage Company. He has also gone to the national level with his science congress projects.
